Joshua Burgos

Recipient of the prestigious Southern Regents Educational Board Doctoral Fellowship, Mr. Joshua Burgos is a PhD candidate in Music Education and Applied Teaching & Learning Minor at Louisiana State University. Before his appointment at Kohelet Yeshiva, Mr. Josh taught at LSU School of Music and Kids’ Orchestra, an El Sistema-inspired organization. An active scholar, Mr. Josh is a Research Associate at the LSU Translational Research in Music Group, a collaborative for creating and sharing music research with and for local teachers and community members. His research interests include string pedagogy, music education philosophy, ethics, and philosophical research methodologies. In addition to his work in academia, Joshua teaches violin and viola students at his private studio and conducts group classes and workshops. Since his Kimmel Center solo debut, Joshua continues to perform as a recitalist and chamber musician in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.
