Melissa Perl joined Kohelet Yeshiva in 2014 from Memphis, bringing an extensive background in classroom teaching and administration. She has been teaching high school Limudei Kodesh for 17 years, first at Maimonides High School in Boston, then at the Frisch Yeshiva High School in New Jersey, and then at Margolin Hebrew Academy/Feinstone Yeshiva of the South. She held the position of Director of Girls Israel Guidance at Maimonides and Director of Religious Guidance, Religious Programming, and Girls Israel Guidance at Frisch. In Memphis, Mrs. Perl was Assistant Principal for Student Support and Professional Development for Pre-K-12, while also chairing the MHA/FYOS Tanach department, heading the teacher mentoring program, directing Israel Guidance for girls, and teaching Honors Tanach and AP Psychology. Her undergraduate degrees were in Judaic Studies and Psychology from Stern College. She holds a Master’s Degree in Bible from Yeshiva University and has completed all but her dissertation for her Ed.D. Mrs. Perl has completed certificate programs in Teacher Mentoring, Student Support, Differentiated Instruction, and Educational Technology.
